TiVo Takes on Advertising

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 @ 11:20 am | Advertising, Broadcast

The television phenomenon once known as “the disruptor” to the advertising world is now pairing up with Amazon to create an advertising breakthrough. TiVo’s CEO Thomas Rogers explains:

“[the] goal now is to work with the media industry to come up with ways to resist the downward pressure of less advertising viewing and create a way for advertising on TV to become more effective, more engaging, and closer to the sale.”

TiVo will soon feature the ability to use a remote to purchase items that are shown on certain TV shows or commercials. Hopefully this will be a convenient way to continue to monitor the amount of commercials viewers see but also give them the chance to make the absolutel most of their viewing experiences.
