What About Brett Favvv..ruh?

Mar 04, 2008 in MISC

Brett Favre FINALLY retired today.*

We’re Pats and Ravens fans here @ SB1748, so we really don’t care.

That being said, he’s a cool spot he did for MasterCard a few years back:

…In other Gunslinging-Quarterback-News, Tony Romo was “honored” by COSMOPOLITAN magazine yesterday with a “Fun Fearless Man Award…” Or whatever…

Romo is fast becoming the biggest douchenozzle QB in the National Football League.  We really don’t need to explain why, but when you show up @ an “awards luncheon” (a luncheon!) for a trashy women’s magazine and run into two guys who have been with your current lady friend…maybe that’s sayin’ something.  But what do we know?

Either way, we couldn’t be caught dead at ANY event that honored the no-talent hack that is Dane Cook.  The guy hasn’t been relevant since 2003.  In what way is he Fun AND Fearless?  Did ANYONE from Cosmo watch the MLB playoffs on FOX last year? No?

Okay, nevermind…on to other things…

These print ads aren’t real…but they kinda make us want to buy a Prius…

…BBC is launching an Arabic Network in the Middle East.  Arabs LOVE Western media, for sure! (NYT)

…Facebook hires Google’s Sheryl Sandberg as COO…interesting. (TechCrunch)

Monday Quickie…

Mar 03, 2008 in MISC

We were up before the crack of dawn this morning for an adventure in the north woods of Connecticut, so we’re going to make it quick with what you need to know on this first Monday in March…

Michael Eisner is back! First he was predicting the end of the writer’s strike, and now he’s off and running with some hot digital content. Looks like Mr. Eisner’s comeback might not be an “Michael-Jordan-with-the-Washington-Wizards” scenario after all. (NYT/Gawker/CNBC)

Everybody’s favorite bitter Brit, Simon Cowell, was tremendously insulted by Viagra’s $2m offer to become the face of their “performance enhancing” product. Hmmm…maybe he’s a Cialis guy? (ADFREAK)

NIN pulling a Radiohead…kinda. Either way, free music! (Mashable)
